Nikon D300s 12MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera Reviews

The perfect replacement for the excellent D300.,

" I aquired my D300 proper immediately after it came out to replace my F5. It was a accurate Godsend! I wore out carrying it about in the saddle bag of my harley shooting events, and 97,000 shutter clicks. It's gonna get serviced and applied as a back up body.

The D300s ROCKS! I didn't think the D300 required any upgrading, even so the subtle differences are sweet! From the Live View button to the back rather of on the knob, to the new less difficult to open CF cover. I'm not a video individual, do not wish to shoot it at events. But it is good for the grandkids, and small clips. Not into SDHC cards, but will most likely invest in a couple and use them for dedicated only to video clips.

The menu is unique, slightly, but I used it with out haveing to read the owners manual, just glanced at the fast start out guide. This was an excellent investment for me, and it'll be for you too! "

A Quantum Leap for a Photographer,

" I began with the D40. Naturally, there's no comparison between the two performance wise, so let me stick with functionality.

First, 1 of the issues that drove me crazy with the D40 was having to navigate menus to change key settings like the meter, autofocus kind, autofocus method. With the D300s, those settings are now at the flick of a switch on the camera body which is precisely what I was looking for in my next camera. And that's the key difference between the D300s as well as the extra simple offerings. I didn't use the pre-programmed settings for portrait, landscape, etc. on the D40 and didn't want them. Bam! They're gone now.

Now, here's the downside. I've had the camera for some months now and am still attempting to understand how most effective to make use of all of the controls. While I've several of them down, there is certainly a whole lot to understand. I have identified that as the specs point out that noise starts creeping in at 800 ISO or so, but you discover how to live with it.

The massive debate going on now is when will a replacement for this arrive like a D400. Well, using the events that have unfolded, we do not know what the impact will be. I was surprised to see the price begin heading up immediately after I created my acquire. Regardless, in case you are within the market for a camera like this and are OK with the cost, go for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. If shooting high ISO is usually a major deal, then this could not be your most effective option. On the other hand, the will need for high ISO is partially driven by the lenses you pick.

As far as cameras go, I seriously enjoy the D300s. It was every little thing I was wanting and extra. "

Love It!!,

" Upgraded from the D40 6.1 mp. What a major difference in develop, speed and picture good quality! I'm preparing on buying either the 17-55mm or the 24-70mm to go along with the D300s. I already have the 50mm and 35mm, good lenes! This camera paired using the MB-D10 battery pack feels good! I enjoy the really feel of the combo. Being that I have major hands makes it comfy to manage. It is somewhat heavy at times though with this combo but, hey, that is what you get from a rugged built camera. "
